2024 CRR Fish Creek X/C Race
March 9, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Fish Creek 8km results – revised
Fish Creek 4km results – revised
Welcome to the 2024 CRR Fish Creek cross-country event, the last race of the 2023-2024 Grand Prix series. The event features a short fun run for little kids at 11:45 am, followed by a mass start for 4 km and 8 km runners, at noon.
Location – Park at the Hull’s Wood parking lot, Fish Creek Provincial Park. The race start is 150 m West off the parking lot, under the steep hill.
Directions – Hull’s Wood parking lot, Fish Creek Provincial Park. Follow Bow Bottom Trail almost all the way down to Sikome Lake, but not quite! If you made it to Sikome Lake, turn around and park at Hull’s Wood, 400 m North.
Park in designated lots. The CRR Club is not responsible for ticketed vehicles. Speed Limit is 30 kph in the Park.
Course Description – Race starts at parking lot and winds around Fish Creek Park. Classic cross country hazards will be encountered (mud, snow, ice, water crossings, steep hills, uneven footing with possible gopher holes.) Shoes with a good tread are recommended – and spikes or cleats if you have them.
4K will include most of the above.
Kids run will be about 1 km long and will not include most of the above.
Karen Chugg is our Race Director for the event. This is 23rd year for Karen to direct the Fish Creek event; her first RD shift was in 2001 (missed one year during COVID lockdown). Karen is currently the record holder RD, followed by Kathy Taerum with 22 years (but in three different events).
Please contact him to offer help – people volunteering at the event, or bringing soups takes a lot of load off RDs’ shoulders.
Post-Race Meal & Social will be held at the Deer Run Community Centre at 2223 146 Ave SE (Follow Bow Bottom Tr. south from Canyon Meadows Dr. and turn east onto 146 Ave.)
Hot soup, rolls and beverages will be served. Please bring your favourite dessert to share with other participants and volunteers.
Help reduce the amount of plastic waste we generate by bringing your own mug, bowl and spoon.
Event online pre-registration is now OPEN on this WEBFORM – don’t forget to bring in cash to the race and pay your entry fees on-site (START/FINISH area). The WEBFORM will be closed on Friday March 8th at 9 p.m.
