We are saddened to learn that our long-time Club member Helly Visser crossed her last finish line on November 30th. Helly was a kind soul and a talented international caliber athlete, passionate about running and racing; she set multiple provincial, national, and world age category records, was inducted into the Canadian Masters Athletics Hall of Fame, and named Athletics Alberta Masters Athlete of the Year on several occasions. Helly proudly donned CRR colours at most of her races.
Together with Roger Davies, Helly organized the “Roger and Helly’s Fun Track Triathlon“, a September club night run event featuring 600, 1000, and 2000 m heats; We hope this event will remain her club legacy for years to come.
She will be dearly missed. Rest in piece, Helly.
