2025 CRR Nose Hill X/C Race

Welcome to the 2025 CRR Nose Hill cross-country event, race eight of the 2024-2025 Grand Prix series. The event features a short fun run for little kids at 11:45 am, followed by a mass start for 4 km and 8 km runners, at Noon.
Nose Hill XC is the oldest of the CRR Grand Prix series, first organized in 1986 by Dr. Dave Irvine-Halliday – who still runs CRR XC events with his dog Raven. This is the 40th annual run of this race, including one virtual instance in 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.
Location – Park and register at the North Haven Community Association – 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary. The race start is a 10 minute walk from the hall, not far from the Nose Hill Viewpoint parking, NW of North Haven Dr. (Google map link)
Directions – The North Haven Community Association is located at 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary (Google map link). Race starts adjacent to the Nose Hill Park Viewpoint lot, West of 14th Street NW, 10 min walk from the Hall. There is a small parking lot not far from the race start/finish location, but it fills quickly.
Park in designated lots, either at Start / Finish (Google map link), or preferably, at North Haven Community Association (Google map link). The CRR Club is not responsible for ticketed vehicles.
Course Description – Kids run course is about ~0.5 km long on a pathway or snow/dirt trail. The 4 km and 8 km races will run on up and down the Hill, and a bit on its top. The usual X-C hazards will be encountered, including snow, mud, and icy patches. Spikes or cleats are recommended for the 8K and 4K run. .
Trev Williams is our Race Director for this event, and this is his 14th year as the race director! Please contact him to offer help – people volunteering at the event, or bringing soups takes a lot of load off RDs’ shoulders.
Post-Race Meal & Social will be held at the North Haven Community Association – 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary (walking distance East of race start)
Hot soup, rolls and beverages will be served. Please bring a dessert to share with race participants and bring your own mug, bowl and spoon to reduce waste.
Date/Time – Saturday February 8, 2025 11:45 am – 1 Km Kids Race 12:00 noon – 4 km and 8 km Races
Location – Race starts North off 14th Str (Google maps link). Park near the North Haven Community Association – 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary and jog the short distance along the pathway to the start. You can also park at a large lot on Nose Hill above 14th Str, short distance from race start (parking may be busy there). The usual X-C hazards will be encountered, including icy patches. Spikes or cleats are recommended for the 8K and 4K run.
Amenities – Parking, toilets, and post-race soups / desserts are at the North Haven Community Association – 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary.

- General entry – $12
- Calgary Roadrunner members – $8
- Full-time students – $6
- Children 12 & Under are FREE
Parent/Guardian must sign waiver for a participant under 18 years old entered in the all races.
Registration – Event online pre-registration will be OPEN on this WEBFORM (LINK) – don’t forget to bring in cash to the race and pay your entry fees on-site. The WEBFORM will be closed on Friday February 7th at 9 pm.
Post Race Social – Post Race social, soups and hot drinks will be held at the North Haven Community Association – 5003 N Haven Dr, Calgary. Please let the Race Directors know if you could bring in a hot soup. Also, bring some dessert to share with all.
Volunteering – CRR events are run by Volunteers, We are always in a need to people helping run an event. Please let the Race Director know if you can volunteer at their Event. Roles include Start/Finish setup and take-down, Timing, Finish Popsicle Sticks, Finish Results, Course Marshalling, Kitchen, and others.
